Section 18
Family Pension and Gratuity

(1) If the Attorney General wishes any of his family members, such person and in the event of the death of such desired person or if no one is desired, the next of kin of his family members shall be given pension as per Section 17 on the following basis:-
(a) If the Attorney General dies while in office, for seven years from the date of death,
(b) In case of death within seven years of starting to receive pension according to section 17, until the remaining period of seven years.
(2) If the Attorney General dies while in office, and if he does not receive a pension according to section 17, but only a gratuity, the amount of the gratuity shall be received by the person mentioned in sub-section (1) among the members of his family.
(3) After the period for receiving family pension as per sub-section (1) has been paid, the widow or widower of the deceased Attorney General shall be entitled to receive half of such pension for life. But if such a person is getting pension for the government service he has done, he will not get pension under this sub-section.
(4) When the salary of the Attorney General is increased, two-thirds of the increase in the number of salary points shall be added to the family pension amount received by the person receiving family pension as per sub-section (1) or (3).
